Ehmej to Arez Jaj with Routes

Join Routes, on Sunday 8th of October in exploring Ehmej to Jaj trail. Starting the hike at St Georges church in Bkarta (Ehmej) towards Jaj cedar forest, on our way we will encounter one of the deepest sinkholes in the area hidden between the rocky nature.

The cedars there are among the last survivors of the immense forests that lay across Mount Lebanon in ancient times. The Cedar forest in Jaj contains about 375 trees, some between 1200 and 2000 years old. They stand on slopes 2000 m elevation.
We will reach the top of the forest on sunset time to enjoy the combination of the wonderful sunset and the amazing landscape.

Event Details:

* DATE: Sunday, 8th of October

* MEETING POINT:

Beirut Al Nahar Building-Martyr square Downtown (we can pick up Hikers along the way) at 12:00 PM.
Byblos Public Parking at 12:45 PM.

PS: Punctuality is highly important!

* HIKE DEPARTURE: 1:30 PM.

* HIKE DIFFICULTY: Moderate Level.

* HIKE DURATION: 4.5 hours.

* HIKE DISTANCE: 12 Km.

* Departure from Jaj at 9.30 or 10 pm after passing by a local restaurant (Sama Jaj) for some delicious local food.
