DESCRIPTION:Join us for our annual meeting with the Perseid Meteor Shower on Saturday 12th of August 2023\, in Tannourine Cedars Reserve\, a jewel of North Lebanon\, not to be missed.\nLebanon Mountain Trail crosses this area in its sections 9 and 10.\n\nWe will spend the night lying down stargazing\, at the entrance of the amazing Cedars forest of Tannourine\, which has the greatest concentration of cedars of Lebanon. The place is with a low light pollution.\n\nNeedles to say\, Children are welcome in this magical place as astronomy workshops will be available for them. Therefore the association UniversCiel will join us to animate diurnal activities for kids between 6 and 12 years old.\n\nAn open-air presentation Hosted by Mr. Marc Bou Zeid – Astrophysicist –  will   explain about those shooting stars that seems to come from the constellation of Perseus.\nWe will learn everything about this annual phenomenom that peeks between 11th and 15th of august.\nThis presentation will be followed by a sky tour.\n\nA Lebanese dinner will be prepared by local hosts.\n\n The next day\, after a Lebanese breakfast\, we will hike inside the reserve for approx. 1 hour.\n\n\nPractical details and program: \nSaturday 12\n16h30 : Welcome at the reserve entrance\n17h00 : Diurnal Astronomy workshops for children\n19h00 : Dinner\n20h15 : Presentation on the Perseid meteor shower (Mr. Marc Bou Zeid – Astrophysicist)\n21h00 : Sky tour\n21h30 : Presentation on James Webb Telescope images v/s other images\n22h15 : Observation night activities\n–       Observation of the starry sky\n–       Fire camp (don’t hesitate to get your instruments)\n–       Astrophotography\n\n\nSunday 13\n08h30    Breakfast at Eco Dalida\n10h00    Hiking for 1 hour inside the reserve\n\n\nWeekend fees per person :\n\n– The price is $43 (or $40 for those who get their own tents) including camping\, dinner\, breakfast\, the conference\, reserve entrance fees\, guides and insurance. \n  \n\nFor kids below 12 years old the price in $20 + $10 for the astronomy activities fees.\n– No fees for kids under 6 years\n\nFeasibility:\nPlaces are limited to 80 participants.\n\n\nReservations: call Serge 03-214989
